Changing of the Guard, Saying goodbye, New opportunities. Getting Ready,

The last couple of weeks have been about helping the students from 2010-2011 school year move forward and beginning the process of welcoming the students from the 2011-2012 school year. Between moving, helping student with airport things, having final coffee’s, lunches, meetings, going to graduations, welcoming new graduate students, etc. its been very interesting and kind of emotionally draining. Add to that the anticipation and big preparations for the Asia trip and some job uncertainty for Lisa and we have been stretched. It is not busyness but the randomness of the time that make it interesting. It has drawn us to depend on God more and more. Thank you all for your regular prayers. It keeps us focused and centered on Christ and His work and the spiritual/tangible effects are clear and definite. Thank you.
We would like to recruit at least 7-14 people who would commit to pray for us on the Asia trip: people who would pray a little each day and who would take one day a week while we prepare and are on the trip (e.g. a Monday).

Testimony for trip to Houston in Spring

Back in the Spring, we helped one of our local ministry partners to reach out to some MBA students they were involved with by making our team in Houston available to help them plan a trip to NASA to meet an astronaut and stay with local host families. Here is a testimony from the team leader:

Roy I think it went great.  This group really enjoyed the trip and several told me that being in an American home was as exciting as the space tour.

I had a 30 min. conversation with “W” about “believers”, and etc.  I learned Wed night that he carries around with him a Gideon New Testament.  I will get him a Bi-Lingual Bible.  “C” picked up on the main teaching of the Tues Bible lunch and gave it back to the Pastor in a questions and answer exchange that he had with the students.  It shocked the pastor and thrilled him too in that he impulsively went over to “G” and kneeled in front of him.:) I got a posed picture of them before we left to board the bus.  I had a 5 x 7 made and will give it to “G.”  I had a disk made of my pictures.

Good questions were asked to the pastor and everyone was very attentive.  They loved the warmth and friendliness of their hosts.  Those in the “L” Church van had fun with “M.”  He was connecting with “F” and is inviting him out to his ranch in Johnson county. I will be interested to find out how many answer Jeff’s 5 questions.   I don’t expect many of them to write him because they are unsure about their written English.  They read it well but writing an opinion or thought will be hard for them.

God is working to reach international students in a big way through so many people.
